Climate Action Network Coordinator – Edinburgh
💷 £28,000 pa
📍 Working from home or the Edinburgh office

Reports to SCCAN Networks Manager
Hours: 35 hours / week (generally Monday to Friday, but appointees may work occasional evenings/weekends)
Funded by the Scottish Government until the end of March 2023 with a possible extension beyond that date.

This post has come up again as Rachel Caplan – who was appointed in May and launched ECAN at an event in July – has been head-hunted by former film-maker colleagues to work on promoting a new documentary After the Oil Machine.

Rachel achieved a significant outreach beyond the usual suspects and identified 500 community-led organisations across the city and had spoken personally to over 50 people to explore options for the next stage towards the establishment of a community-led climate action hub for Edinburgh.

So, with support from the Scottish Government, SCCAN are recruiting Climate Action Network Coordinators for both Edinburgh and for the Forth Valley.

The advert reads:

The aim of the regional Network Coordinator is to build connection and understanding across community groups and create structures to enable the adoption of more strategic and collaborative approaches to the climate emergency.

The Scottish Government is supporting SCCAN to invest in a number of regional community climate action networks across Scotland.

This is to enable consolidation and expansion of the work of existing community climate action networks and to nurture the creation of new regional networks, which can support the emergence of the regional community climate action hubs.

Closing Date: 12 noon, Thursday 20 October
Interview Date: Friday 28 October
